I thought things were going to quieten down a bit in the second half of this year, but it hasn’t happened that way.

A couple of weeks ago we put together the hugely successful “Cannot Buy My Soul – The Songs of Kev Carmody” show in Brisbane as part of the Queensland Music Festival.  Many thanks to all the artists and crew who gave so much for so little.  There was an amazing lack of egos involved – absolutely everybody gave 100%.  Kev is also going to be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame later this month – as he’s pointed out, perhaps the lowest selling artist to be bestowed that honour!

“As Day Follows Night” has proven to be Sarah Blasko’s quickest selling record yet – gold in 3 weeks.  She’s touring in Europe at the moment before coming back here in October for what will be a sold out tour.

Kate Miller-Heidke’s record has absolutely taken off, all thanks to a little promo spot on channel 10 for a great aussie soap opera.  The song “Last Day On Earth” is top 10 in Australia, and the album has gone back into the top 40.  She’s supporting Ben Folds in the US during September & October, and we’re working on a US release right now.

Back to work now…

Been a crazy couple of months, with four out of our five artists out touring, and one delivering a new record.

Paul Kelly is just coming to the end of an incredibly successful national tour.  He’s then taking a fair bit of time out to get working on writing his first book, which should be out late next year.  You can get a taste of his writing in this month’s “The Monthly” magazine.

The Drones finished their tour here, and got straight on a plane to Europe.  First show tonight in London has been sold out for two months.  Briese has headed off with them on her tour management debut.  Be nice to her please.

Kate Miller-Heidke just finished a run around the country, with End Of Fashion joining her.  Huge congrats to her and Keir Nuttall on being the overall grand prize winners in the International Songwriting Competition for “Caught In The Crowd”, which officially I think makes them the best songwriters in the world, as well as a fair bit wealthier.  Kate is about to head off to the UK and US for her first shows there.

The End Of Fashion lads hit the road next week with Evermore for six weeks of solid touring, and their new single “Force Of Habit” hits radio next week.

We also joined the world of twitter recently – twitter.com/onelouder11 – and try to be as stupid as possible, while sometimes also being informative.
